FAQ – Transaction Processing
Error: This event has already been submitted OR Tag 000000124000299999999 already has an event at this time, another event cannot be applied (Transaction ID:TR#########).
There can only be one event at the same time for a tag/indicator in the CLTS database.
This error may appear when entering other events, but should not with birthdates.
To correct this error, confirm that the information has not already been submitted by performing a Tag/Animal History search. Click here for instructions.
If the event has not already been submitted successfully, re-submit the information but use a time stamp when entering the date. e.g. YYYYMMDD should be changed to YYYYMMDDHHMM
Error: Event type (Multiple Options) is not allowed before event type (Multiple Options) on tag 000000124000299999999.
The event you are submitting is out of the sequence that a tag/indicator has to travel through.
For example, if you have submitted an issued event with a date of 20190206 and the distributed date is 20190208 then this error will appear because the issued date is before the distributed date.
The sequence of an approved CCIA tag/indicator must follow as below:
- Allocated
- Manufactured
- Distributed or Issued
- Issued
- Animal Events: Birth Date, Move In, Move Out, Cross Reference, Temporary Export, Imported, Retired/Exported/Disposed
The sequence of a USDA/OTHER Country tag/indicator must follow as below:
- Imported*
- Animal Events: Move In, Move Out, Cross Reference, Temporary Export, Retired/Exported/Disposed
*The Retired or Disposed events do not require the Imported event first.
Confirm the tag/indicator number was entered correctly. If the number was incorrect, resubmit the information for the correct one.
Confirm the event date you have entered. It should be in the format of a 4-digit year, a 2-digit month and a 2-digit day. If the event date was incorrect, resubmit the information with the correct date.
If both the tag/indicator number and event date are correct, contact CCIA at 1-877-909-2333 or email info@canadaid.ca.
Error: Event Date must be provided. Cannot deactivate.

How do I view the errors?
To view error messages you will first need to locate the transaction details. There are two ways to locate your transactions.
- Locating your transaction – On the CLTS database homepage your 5 latest transactions appear under the Recent transactions heading. To view the transaction details, click the Transaction ID.
- Once you have located and selected the transaction you want to view, the Request Details screen will appear. Select Display Records in the Error Records row to view the error message(s).
- The error message(s) will appear with the details from the submission. Click for a list of common error messages and their solutions. View the details and return to the Transaction Details screen.
- If you come across an error that you do not understand and the message does not appear on the list of common error messages, contact CCIA at 1-877-909-2333 or email info@canadaid.ca.
Will I be notified if there are errors on my transactions?
If you have a valid email address added to your account, the CLTS database can notify you when there are transaction errors. To turn this feature on:
- After logging into the CLTS database, click My Account.
- On the General Account Information screen, scroll down to the Account Preferences section and click Change Preferences.
- Select the option “Send me an email for files that have errors” and then click Update. You will now receive an email notification for submission errors.
How do I know if there are errors on my transaction?
Transaction errors only appear after the transaction has finished processing. There are a few ways to see if your transactions have errors.
- On the CLTS database homepage your 5 latest transactions appear under Recent Transactions. Under the Results heading records that were successful will have a green
, records that returned an error will have a red
.
To find out which tags/indicators returned an error, click the Transaction ID to be taken to the results. To view more than the 5 latest transactions click where it says “See more transactions”.
- Alternatively, you can use the Request History feature found under the Search heading to search for your transactions that have an error.

How do I know when an error has been corrected?
You can check the current information on a tag/indicator by using the Tag/Animal History feature under Search on the header bar.
Note: You will only be able to view information that is associated with your account.

Can I delete an error?
All errors returned are permanently on record in the CLTS database and can never be erased, but can be corrected by submitting a successful transaction.
Error: Event type (Multiple Options) is not allowed after event type (Multiple Options) on tag 000000124000299999999.
The event you are submitting is out of the sequence that a tag/indicator number has to travel through. This means the event you have submitted is missing a previous required event, for example in order for an animal event to be successfully applied to a tag/indicator there must be an Issued event.
The sequence of an approved CCIA tag/indicator must follow as below:
- Allocated
- Manufactured
- Distributed or Issued
- Issued
- Animal Events: Birth Date, Move In, Move Out, Cross Reference, Replaced, Temporary Export, Imported, Retired/Exported/Disposed
If the identification number was incorrect, resubmit the information for the correct number.
Confirm the event date you have entered. It should be in the format of a 4-digit year, a 2-digit month and a 2-digit day. If the event date was incorrect, resubmit the information with the correct date.
Error: Duplicate Birthdate Details, Birth date provided for tag 124000299999999 match its current birthdate information.
The birthdate information you are submitting is already attached to that tag/indicator number, it cannot be applied twice.
Error: Tag 124000299999999 is not in possession of _____ OR Account_____ is not the issued destination account for tag 124000299999999.
Tag ____ is not in possession of _____. This tag/indicator number is not in your account inventory. If you are submitting a Replaced or Cross Reference event, a Move In event is required first.
Account_____ is not the issued destination account for tag 124000299999999. This error often will appear when attempting to age verify your animals. The error means that the tag/indicator is not part of your inventory. If you are the original owner of that tag/indicator contact CCIA at 1-877-909-2333 or email info@canadaid.ca, to correct this. If you are not the herd of origin for the tag/indicator, you are unable to submit birth date information.
