FAQ – Account Issues
In order to get started with the CLTS Database, users require an account and username.
Users can call the CCIA call centre at (1-877-909-2333) and a Client Support Representative (CSR) will be happy to set up an account and username for you.
Once the account and username have been set up, the CSR will generate an authorization code which will be emailed to the user or can be given verbally for the user to create their own personalized password.
Click here to find more information about how to start with the CLTS database.
In order to use the authorization code, you must be on the Activation screen, it cannot be used in the password field of the login screen.
On the login screen click the link beside “Need to activate your account with Authorization code?” this will take you to the Activation screen.
Authorization codes expire 14 days after being generated and must be used within those two weeks. If the code you have is passed its expiry date, contact CCIA at 1-877-909-2333 or email email@example.com, to receive another one.
Make sure you are on the CLTS database User Login screen and not the Activation screen. Each password must be at least 8 characters long and has to include at least one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter and at least one number. (i.e. Cattle99)
If you cannot get your password to work, there are two options:
- Contact a CCIA Client Support Representative at 1-877-909-2333 or email firstname.lastname@example.org, and have them issue an authorization code to reset your password.
- If you have a valid email address added to your account, click the link beside “Forgot your password?” to have an authorization code emailed to you so that you can reset it yourself.
If you have a username and password, login to the CLTS database and on the home screen click the My Account heading.
On the General Account Information screen, the account ID can be found in the Account Details section. Your Account ID begins with the letter “A” and is followed by 7 digits.
What if I don’t have access to a computer or the Internet, how do I input my cattle information on the CLTS database?
You can have a third party such as a neighbor, relative or local veterinary office, submit information on your behalf to the CLTS database. A third-party agreement must be signed by both parties and submitted to CCIA in order for the third party to be granted access to your account without having to reveal your login information.
All event templates can be found on the CLTS Resource Centre under each operation type’s event list.
